There are two options for using the ELOM:
- Independently in which data is collected, analysed and managed by the research team/organisation.
- With limited support from the ELOM team in which data is managed and analysed, and a summary of ELOM results is provided. Innovation Edge can provide this support to a limited number of studies that contribute to evidence about the effectiveness of different forms of ECD programming. Those that require support, may apply for support. Applications must be accompanied by an outline of the research or evaluation study that includes the purpose, design and timeframe. Successful applicants will be required to provide the data as well as any publications from their study for curation. This will enable secondary analyses that will contribute to the knowledge base on ECD and ECD programming.
Access data from the data repository
It is envisaged that where it is of the necessary quality, ELOM data will be placed in the public domain with Data First for purposes of secondary data analysis. For ELOM data to be placed in the repository, consent to participate must be obtained from the child’s parent or guardian and the research must have been approved by an Institutional Review Board (Ethics Committee). All ELOM users must complete this form and sign an ELOM end user agreement. Those accessing data from Data First will be required to complete their agreement prior to accessing data. Data will be available from 30 January 2018.
